Taylor Swift’s “Lover” is her seventh studio album, released on August 23rd, 2019. It sold over 867,000 copies in its first week. The album explores various forms of love, including romantic and familial love. It was written for Joe Alwyn, Taylor’s lover at the time, and produced by Jack Antonoff.
Personally, “Lover” is my favorite Taylor Swift album because I adore the songs on it. They evoke a range of emotions within me in just one hour, which is the album’s duration. It features upbeat and fun songs, but it also includes a track called “Soon You’ll Get Better,” which Taylor wrote for her mother while she was battling cancer. This song expresses Taylor’s fear of losing her mother and her uncertainty about how she would cope if her mother didn’t recover. Fortunately, Andrea, Taylor’s mother, successfully beat cancer and is now doing great.
Each song on this album tells a story, but my favorite is “Death by a Thousand Cuts.” I love the rhythm and energy of the bridge in that song.
In conclusion, I highly recommend this album to fellow hopeless romantics (like myself) who enjoy immersing themselves in imaginative scenarios.
