In September 2022, the third group of students who applied for the “Canterbury Study Tours” program were able to travel abroad and broaden their cognitive and cultural horizons while having a good time.
The objective of this educational project was to enhance communication skills through various classes with students from different parts of the world. During this program, the entire group resided in a house and were led by their group leader, Camilo Gallardo Soto. They took part in a diverse range of academic and non-academic activities.
They had projects throughout the city of Canterbury, visited various museums, castles, and towns, and even participated in night quizzes and parties. Every day, the group had access to breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the main canteen. After the activities, each student had the opportunity to explore the city and spend their money as they wished.
According to Camilo Gallardo, the group leader, “it was one of the most challenging but rewarding projects” he had ever worked on. The students were able to expand their knowledge and overcome their shyness by conversing with local residents of Canterbury, London, and, of course, the airports. It was an open-minded activity that could potentially alter their perspectives of the world.
